Description
Τεσσαράγκωνο μαντίλι με τα φτερούδια (γωνίες), τριγωνικό βαμβακερό σταμπωτό τσεμπέρι του εμπορίου με φυτικό διάκοσμο. Πρόκειται για κεφαλοκάλυμμα της γυναικείας σαρακατσάνικης φορεσιάς της Βοιωτίας. Το μαντίλι έχει κίτρινο φόντο με σταμπωτό φυτικό διάκοσμο, του οποίου το περίγραμμα τονίζεται με μαύρο χρώμα και το γέμισμα γίνεται με πράσινο, μπλε, κίτρινο και καφέ χρώμα. Στις άκρες του φέρει επίρραπτη διακόσμηση με χρυσή δαντέλα του εμπορίου με περαστές πούλιες στα τελειώματά της. Η διευθέτηση του μαντιλιού στο κεφάλι είναι απλή. Οι Σαρακατσάνες χτενίζουν τα μαλλιά τους με χωρίστρα στη μέση και τα πλέκουν σε δύο κοτσίδες, τις κοσάνες ή κόσες, που πέφτουν ελεύθερες πίσω στην πλάτη. Έπειτα καλύπτουν το κεφάλι με το μαντίλι, το οποίο δένεται απλά πίσω κάτω από τις κοτσίδες ή
περνώντας τη μία άκρη χαλαρά κάτω από το σαγόνι και αφήνοντας την άλλη άκρη να πέφτει μπροστά στο στήθος.
