Description
Βελούδινη ζώνη, επονομαζόμενη τσ' καπτσαλούς, σε βυσσινί χρώμα, με λεπτό και πυκνό χρυσοκέντημα κατά το βυζαντινό τρόπο των χρυσοπάστων. Γίνεται από ειδική τεχνίτρα, την καπιτσαλού, που κεντά τη ζώνη με τον τσελντέ, ένα τρίγωνο τελάρο. Η τεχνική του κεντήματος είναι ίδια με το συρμακέσικο κέντημα και γίνεται πάντα πάνω σε βελούδο ή μεταξωτό ύφασμα. Απαραίτητες για το κέντημα είναι δύο βελόνες, η μία με βαμβακερή κλωστή και η άλλη με μετάξι και με χρυσόνημα ή καθαρό χρυσό, όπως επίσης και ένα σουβλί με ξύλινο χερούλι. Το σχέδιο του κεντήματος κόβεται σε χαρτί και προσαρμόζεται στην επάνω επιφάνεια του υφάσματος ενώ από κάτω προσαρμόζεται λεπτό χαρτόνι. Η ζώνη διακοσμείται με σειρά από εναλλασσόμενα φύλλα και λουλούδια, που τα διακόπτουν σταυροί. Στο
μέσο της ζώνης, δικέφαλος αετός. Ανάμεσα στα κεντητά μοτίβα οι μπλίρες (πούλιες) και το τιρτίρι στα περιγράμματα συμπληρώνουν τη διακόσμηση. Η ζώνη είναι φοδραρισμένη με μεταξωτό βυσσινί σατέν.
