Description
Βελούδινη ζώνη, επονομαζόμενη τσ' καπτσαλούς, σε χρώμα κόκκινο, με λεπτό και πυκνό χρυσοκέντημα κατά το βυζαντινό τρόπο των χρυσοπάστων. Γίνεται από ειδική τεχνίτρα, την καπιτσαλού, που κεντά τη ζώνη με τον τσελντέ, ένα τρίγωνο τελάρο. Η τεχνική του κεντήματος είναι ίδια με το συρμακέσικο κέντημα και γίνεται πάντα πάνω σε βελούδο ή μεταξωτό ύφασμα. Απαραίτητες για το κέντημα είναι δύο βελόνες, η μία με βαμβακερή κλωστή, η άλλη με μετάξι και με χρυσόνημα ή καθαρό χρυσό, όπως επίσης κι ένα σουβλί με ξύλινο χερούλι. Το σχέδιο του κεντήματος κόβεται σε χαρτί και προσαρμόζεται στην επάνω επιφάνεια του υφάσματος ενώ από κάτω προσαρμόζεται λεπτό χαρτόνι. Η ζώνη διακοσμείται με σειρά από εναλλασσόμενα φύλλα και οκταπέταλα λουλούδια με κυματοειδή μίσχο. Στο κέντρο
της ζώνης στέκεται δικέφαλος αετός. Μπλίρες (πούλιες), πολύχρωμα αστρουλάκια και το τιρτίρι στο περίγραμμα συμπληρώνουν τον διάκοσμο. Από τα άκρα της ζώνης προβάλλει λινοβάμβακη ενίσχυση. Η φόδρα είναι από τσίτι με μικρά, γεωμετρικά σχέδια σε χρώματα καφέ και άσπρο.
