Description
Καρφίτσα του τζάκου, επιχρυσωμένο συρματερό κόσμημα κορμού, στολισμένο με ποικιλόχρωμες γυάλινες πέτρες. Η επιφάνεια της καρφίτσας δίνει την αίσθηση μιας λεπτεπίλεπτης αργυρόπλεχτης δαντέλας. Ο διάκοσμός της στηρίζεται στη σύνθεση σχηματοποιημένων ανθικών και φυτικών θεμάτων με την επανάληψη βασικών στοιχείων, όπως είναι οι σπείρες, η έλικα και τα λεπτότατα επίθετα ρομβόσχημα και κυκλικά ελάσματα. Χρωματιστές πέτρες, μικρές και μεγάλες, ρόδακας με μινιατούρα στο κέντρο και τυρκουάζ, φωτίζουν την επιφάνειά της. Στην κορυφή της καρφίτσας είναι επίθετη η κεφαλή της Θεάς Αθηνάς, ενώ στις πλαϊνές πλευρές της φέρει δύο χέρια που κρατούν στεφάνια. Από τη βάση της εξαρτώνται οκτώ φυλλόσχημα τετραμίδια και επτά αλυσίδες με απομιμήσεις φλουριών. Πρόκειται για κόσμημα που στολίζει τη γυναικεία φορεσιά της Αττικής.
