Description
Στολίδι για τα μαλλιά, οι πλεξούδες, από κρεμεζί μεταξοκλωστές, αποτελούνται από τα γαϊτάνια και τις φούντες. Τα γαϊτάνια περνούσαν μέσα από ασημένια ή επίχρυσα, στενόμακρα (μασούρια) ή σφαιρικά (κόμποι) στολίδια, που κάλυπταν την αρχή της φούντας και το κάτω μέρος του γαϊτάνιου. Αυτά ήταν και τα τμήματα που φαίνονταν πίσω, στην πλάτη της γρίζας, καθώς το επάνω μέρος του γαϊτανιού πλεκόταν μαζί με την κοτσίδα. Τα μασούρια και οι κόμποι μαρτυρούν την πολυτέλεια της πλεξούδας και, επομένως, τον πλούτο του γαμπρού. Η συγκεκριμένη πλεξούδα αποτελείται από τρία γαϊτάνια ενωμένα και στερεωμένα στο επάνω μέρος τους με επίρραπτο κόκκινο πανί. Δύο είναι ισοϋψή, ενώ το τρίτο είναι μακρύτερο. Οι φούντες δένονται με πράσινες κλωστές και χρυσόνημα. Και στις δύο μακριές φούντες
διακρίνονται κάποιες χρυσές κλωστές αλλά στην κοντύτερη φαίνονται καθαρά να πλαισιώνουν τις μεταξοκλωστές απολήγοντας σε μικρές πούλιες. Μόνον δύο φούντες στολίζονται με κόμπους, έναν σφαιρικό και διάτρητο με σπείρες, και έναν εγχάρακτο με ανθικό, επαναλαμβανόμενο μοτίβο σε κατακόρυφο πλαίσιο. Στο εσωτερικό κάθε φούντας διακρίνεται είτε καλυμμένο με πανί ή με τις μεταξοκλωστές, είτε ακάλυπτο το μασούρι από χοντρές κλωστές που σχηματοποιεί το ξεκίνημα της φούντας.
