Description
Τεσσαράγκωνο μαντίλι με τα φτερούδια (γωνίες), τριγωνικό βαμβακερό σταμπωτό τσεμπέρι του εμπορίου με φυτικό διάκοσμο. Πρόκειται για κεφαλοκάλυμμα της γυναικείας σαρακατσάνικης φορεσιάς της Θεσσαλίας. Το μαντίλι έχει σκούρο κίτρινο φόντο με σταμπωτό φυτικό διάκοσμο, του οποίου το περίγραμμα γίνεται με μαύρο χρώμα και το γέμισμα με πράσινο, καφέ, μπλε και κίτρινο χρώμα. Μια κλαδόσχημη μπορντούρα από την οποία φύονται μικρότερα και μεγαλύτερα άνθη διακοσμεί τις παρυφές του μαντιλιού. Στις άκρες του φέρει επίρραπτη διακόσμηση με χρωματιστές και χρυσές τρέσες του εμπορίου, στολισμένες με πούλιες που στερεώνονται με μικρές χρωματιστές χάντρες. Η διευθέτηση του μαντιλιού είναι απλή. Οι Σαρακατσάνες χτενίζουν τα μαλλιά τους με χωρίστρα στη μέση και τα πλέκουν σε δύο κοτσίδες, τις κοσάνες ή κόσες, που πέφτουν ελεύθερες πίσω
στην πλάτη. Το κεφάλι το καλύπτουν με το κίτρινο μαντίλι το οποίο δένεται απλά πίσω, κάτω από τις κοτσίδες.
