Description
Ομπόλια, μαντίλι κεφαλής που δένεται με ειδικό τρόπο από τις Πωγωνίσιες. Πρόκειται για μία επιμήκη λωρίδα μεταξωτού, σαφρανισμένου υφάσματος, διπλωμένου στα τέσσερα κατά μήκος. Περίπου 20εκ. πριν από τα άκρα, έχει ενυφασμένη από μία ρούσα, κόκκινη ταινία από βαμβακερά νήματα, φάρδους 2εκ. Η ομπόλια υφαίνεται από τις κουκουλάρισσες, γυναίκες που βγάζουν το σύρμα (μετάξι), από ειδικές τεχνίτρες ή τέλος από υφάντρες ή υφαντές σε ειδικό, συνήθως, αργαλειό. Μετά την ύφανση ακολουθεί η βαφή με σαφράν, ώστε να λάβει η ομπόλια υποκίτρινη χρώση, και το σιδέρωμα για να γίνουν οι απαραίτητες τσάκισες. Μεταξωτές, σαφρανισμένες ομπόλιες, καλές σαν κι αυτή, φορούν οι νέες σε ηλικία γυναίκες. Όταν πενθούν, κρύβουν τη φούντα, δηλαδή τη ρούσα που κρέμεται στο ύψος του αυχένα.
