Description
Shαμία, τετράγωνο, μάλλινο, σταμπωτό μαντίλι κεφαλής, αγορασμένο από τις Σέρρες. Οι ανύπαντρες το δένουν μπαμπουλωμένο και το στερεώνουν με το γκιουρντάνι, χάντρινο υποσιαγώνιο, και μια κόπιτσα. Αντίθετα, οι παντρεμένες το φορούν πάνω από την καπούλα με το τσεμπέρι, ή παλαιότερα πάνω από το κουταλάκ, (εξαρτήματα του νυφικού κεφαλοκαλύμματος). Τον οινέρυθρο κάμπο του μαντιλιού περιτρέχει πλούσια, σταμπωτή μπορντούρα. Πολυάριθμα σχηματοποιημένα μοτίβα στις αποχρώσεις του κόκκινου και του κίτρινου συμπλέκονται δημιουργώντας διάκενα που διακοσμούνται με τριαντάφυλλα και άλλα λουλούδια, άλλοτε μικρότερα και άλλοτε μεγαλύτερα. Μπουκέτα μικρά με ανθάκια είναι διασπαρμένα εσωτερικά από τη μπορντούρα. Οι τέσσερις πλευρές είναι διακοσμημένες με κρόσσια από μάλλινη κλωστή οινέρυθρου χρώματος. Το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των δύο κάθετων πλευρών είναι διακοσμημένο με επίρραπτες ταντέλες που αγόραζαν από τις
βλάχες της περιοχής: χάντρινα υποκίτρινα και υπόλευκα κρόσσια, γαλάζια δαντέλα του μέτρου και μπλε πλεχτή τρέσα με χάντρες.
