Description
Τριγωνικό απρισιμέν(ι)ο μαντίλι από υπόλευκο μεταξωτό ύφασμα, κεντημένο με υπόλευκο μετάξι. Αποτελεί χαρακτηριστικό εξάρτημα της γυναικείας καστελλοριζιακής φορεσιάς, που εισαγόταν από την Αλεξάνδρεια. Ονομάζεται και σπανιόλικο ή κινέζικο κρέπι, γιατί πιθανότατα ήταν ισπανικής ή κινέζικης προέλευσης. Στη διακόσμησή του κυριαρχούν ελικοειδή φυλλοφόρα κλαδιά φορτωμένα με μεγαλύτερα και μικρότερα ανθικά μοτίβα. Στο γύρο του μαντιλιού μπορντούρα από υπόλευκες μεταξωτές κλωστές πλεγμένες σε δίχτυ, που καταλήγουν σε μακριά κρόσσια, τα μπλεξούδια ή κλόσσια. Το μαντίλι αυτό το φορούσαν διπλωμένο τριγωνικά και ριγμένο πάνω στο τσακί (σκληρή ταινία από μεταξωτό πολύχρωμο μαντίλι), όπου το στερέωναν με μία καρφίτσα. Περνούσαν τις άκρες του πίσω από τα αυτιά, τις σταύρωναν χαμηλά κάτω από το σαγόνι και τις άφηναν να πέφτουν ελεύθερες πίσω.
