Description

Χειρέλι, νυφικό μαντίλι, εξάρτημα του γυναικείου κώτικου κεφαλοκαλύμματος. Το χειρέλι συγκρατούσε σφιχτά το μαχραμά, μεγάλο νυφιάτικο πέπλο από μεταξωτό τουλπάνι. Ήταν καμωμένο από βυσσινί μεταξωτό ύφασμα και διακοσμημένο με χρυσοκέντημα. Μεταγενέστερα, το κέντημα απλικαρίστηκε σε κόκκινη μουσλίνα. Με κορδόνι χρυσό σχηματοποιούνται μεγάλα φυτικά μοτίβα στις δύο άκρες της στενής πλευράς, δυο μεσαία στις μακριές πλευρές (στο κέντρο) και ένα στην άλλη στενή, αλλά και μικρότερα μεταξύ αυτών των μοτίβων. Ολόγυρα, το χειρέλι είναι γαρνιρισμένο με μεταλλικό πλέγμα και δαντέλα με χρυσόνημα.
