Description
Πεσκίρι ή κάρπα, ορθογώνιο παραλληλόγραμμο, δίφυλλο, βαμβακερό, υφαντό μαντίλι, εξάρτημα της κουκούντας, όπως λέγεται το κεφαλοκάλυμμα της παεζάνας, της γιορτινής φορεσιάς του Ασβεστοχωρίου. Διπλώνεται σχεδόν τριγωνικά και διευθετείται στο κεφάλι, όπου στερεώνεται στο ύψος του μετώπου με το τσουμπέρι (κεντητή ταινία). Υφαίνεται και κεντιέται από τις ίδιες τις γυναίκες. Φέρει ενυφασμένο διάκοσμο στις δύο στενές πλευρές. Μέσα σε κόκκινο βαμβακερό κάμπο σχηματοποιούνται μοτίβα με χρώματα λευκό, υποκίτρινο, μπλε και πράσινο. Από τις τρεις γωνίες κρέμονται τα φούντι, κρόσσια από χρωματιστές μεταξωτές και φλος κλωστές. Εσωτερικά από την τέταρτη υπάρχει το τσουτσούλι, κεντητό τετραγωνικό μοτίβο, που παίρνει το όνομά του από το ομώνυμο εξάρτημα του κεφαλοκαλύμματος πάνω στο οποίο τοποθετείται. Είναι καμωμένο με φουσκωτή βελονιά με θηλιές (συναντάται μόνο στο πουκάμισο
της παεζάνας και στα Δωδεκάνησα) από χρυσοκάστανη φλος κλωστή. Η ένωση των δύο φύλλων είναι κεντητή με απλή περαστή βελονιά, εκτός από τις περιοχές του ενυφασμένου διακόσμου, όπου γίνεται με κέντημα από (α)λυσιδίτσα (κεντητή ένωση). Τέλος, το πεσκίρι είναι στο μεγαλύτερο μέρος στριφωμένο με απλή περαστή βελονιά από σκούρα ροζ μεταξοκλωστή.
