Description
Πρόσωπος, κεφαλοκάλυμμα με προσωπείο που φορούν οι Γιανίτσαροι κατά το αποκριάτικο δρώμενο "Γιανίτσαροι και Μπούλες. Κύριο εξάρτημά του είναι το γύψινο προσωπείο που αποκαλείται πρόσωπος. Κατασκευάζεται από χοντρό πανί, πάνω στο οποίο μπαίνει γύψος και αλείφεται από εσωτερικά με γνήσιο κερί, ώστε να δροσίζεται ο Γιανίτσαρος, που το φορά όλη μέρα. Ύστερα βάφεται με μίγμα που έχει βάση το αυγό. Η βάση είναι λευκή, τα φρύδια μαύρα ενώ τα χείλη και τα μάγουλα κόκκινα. Το κίτρινο βαράκι (στρογγυλό σημάδι) στο μέτωπο αρχικά υπήρχε μόνο στον πρόσωπο της Μπούλας και αργότερα προστέθηκε και σε αυτόν του Γιανίτσαρου. Φέρει μικροσκοπικά ανοίγματα για τα μάτια, το στόμα και τη μύτη. Τέλος, κάτω από τη μύτη επικολλάται το μουστάκι από αλογότριχα και κατράμι. Το
προσωπείο αυτό στηρίζεται πάνω σε κόκκινο, τσόχινο φέσι και στερεώνεται στο λαιμό με το μαφέσι, κόκκινο βαμβακερό μαντίλι.
