Description
Μάρτυ με παράδες, επιστήθιο κόσμημα της γυναικείας μεγαρίτικης φορεσιάς με το φουστάνι. Αποτελείται από μια στενόμακρη λουρίδα πράσινου υφάσματος, στολισμένη με επίρραπτους παράδες. Στην απόληξή της φέρει ένα κομμάτι κόκκινου μεταξωτού υφάσματος τυλιγμένο σε ρολό, απ' όπου κρέμονται δύο στελέχη τυλιγμένα με χρυσοκλωστή και γαρνιρισμένα με χρυσό κορδόνι. Καταλήγουν σε δίχρωμες φούντες, καμωμένες από χρυσοκλωστή και μωβ μεταξοκλωστή. Στο πάνω μέρος φέρει δύο κορδέλες για να δένεται στο λαιμό. Πρόκειται για κόσμημα που φορά η αρραβωνιασμένη και πιθανόν η ονομασία του να προέρχεται από το ρήμα μαρτυρώ, απ' όπου και οι λέξεις μάρτυρας, μαρτυρία.
