Description
Μάρτυ με παράδες, επιστήθιο κόσμημα της γυναικείας μεγαρίτικης φορεσιάς με το φουστάνι. Αποτελείται από μια στενόμακρη λουρίδα κόκκινου βαμβακερού υφάσματος στολισμένη με ένα κομμάτι επίρραπτης χρυσής τρέσας, η οποία περιβάλλεται από δύο κατακόρυφες ταινίες από χρυσό γαϊτάνι και χρυσό αλυσιδωτό κορδόνι. Στην απόληξή της, τέσσερα στελέχη τυλιγμένα με χρυσοκλωστή και γαρνιρισμένα με χρυσό κορδόνι, που καταλήγουν σε φούντες χρυσές. Στο πάνω μέρος φέρει δύο κορδέλες για να δένεται στο λαιμό. Πρόκειται για κόσμημα που φορά η αρραβωνιασμένη και πιθανόν η ονομασία του προέρχεται από το ρήμα μαρτυρώ, απ' όπου και οι λέξεις μάρτυρας, μαρτυρία.
