Description
Μικρό κυκλικό καπελάκι, το καβούκι, που έμπαινε στην κορυφή του κεφαλιού και αποτελούσε τη βάση του κεφαλόδεσμου. Λέγεται ότι πήρε το όνομά του από το λατινικό cavus, επειδή είναι ελαφρά κοίλο. Είναι φτιαγμένο από κατηφένιο ατλάζι και είναι παραγεμισμένο με βαμβάκι ("matelasse"). Στην κορυφή του, σε κύκλο διαμέτρου 8εκ., πάνω στην άσπρη βαμβακερή φόδρα σώζεται το μεγαλύτερο τμήμα του διακόσμου από χρυσοΰφαντη μεταξωτή στόφα - σε χρώματα πράσινο, θαλασσί και λευκό με μικρές κοραλί πινελιές - διακοσμημένη με τιρτίρι και μικρές πούλιες. Ολόγυρά της, ομόκεντρες κυκλικές ραφές που συγκρατούν την επένδυση. Στο εσωτερικό, φόδρα από υπόλευκο χασέ.
