Description
Μικρό κυκλικό καπελάκι, το καβούκι, που έμπαινε στην κορυφή του κεφαλιού και αποτελούσε τη βάση του κεφαλόδεσμου. Λέγεται ότι πήρε το όνομά του από το λατινικό cavus, επειδή είναι ελαφρά κοίλο. Είναι φτιαγμένο από κατηφένιο ατλάζι και είναι παραγεμισμένο με βαμβάκι ("matelasse"). Την κορυφή του, σε κύκλο διαμέτρου 8εκ., διακοσμεί βαμβακερή πολύχρωμη στόφα: σε υπόλευκο κάμπο, από λεπτά πράσινα κλαράκια και φύλλα προβάλλουν γαλάζια και γκριζογάλανα ανθάκια και μεγαλύτερα δίχρωμα λουλούδια, ροζ-φούξια και σκούρα βιολετιά. Μικρές φούξια και βιολετί πινελιές ανάμεσα στα φύλλα ποικίλλουν τη σύνθεση. Ολόγυρα από τη διακόσμηση της κορυφής, ομόκεντρες κυκλικές ραφές συγκρατούν την επένδυση. Στο εσωτερικό, φόδρα από υπόλευκο χασέ.
