Description
Κόκκινη βελούδινη χρυσοκεντημένη ζώνη, η οποία στερεώνεται σε συρματερή πόρπη. Η επιφάνεια της ζώνης είναι κεντημένη με τερζήδικη τεχνική, με χρυσόνημα, χρυσό και ασημένιο τιρ-τιρ και μικρές πούλιες. Η διακόσμησή της στηρίζεται σ' έναν σχηματοποιημένο κοιλόκυρτο βλαστό του οποίου το περίγραμμα τονίζεται με τη χρήση ασημένιου τιρ-τιρ. Από το βλαστό αυτό φύονται φυλλόσχημα χρυσοκέντητα μοτίβα και κατά διαστήματα άνθη, σχηματοποιημένα με τη χρήση χρυσού τιρ-τιρ. Μικρές χρυσές πούλιες στερεωμένες με τιρ-τιρ συμπληρώνουν το διάκοσμο. Η ζώνη στερεώνεται σε πόρπη, δουλεμένη με συρματερή τεχνική. Η συρματερή (συρματέινη, φιλιγκράν) τεχνική, δύσκολη και λεπτεπίλεπτη, είναι μια πολύ συνηθισμένη τεχνική τόσο στη λαϊκή όσο και στην εκκλησιαστική αργυροχοΐα, που είχε γνωρίσει ιδιαίτερη άνθιση κυρίως τα βυζαντινά χρόνια. Η επιφάνεια του αντικειμένου που είναι δουλεμένη
μ' αυτού του είδους την τεχνική δίνει την αίσθηση μιας διάφανης αργυρόπλεχτης δαντέλας. Ο διάκοσμος της πόρπης στηρίζεται στη σύνθεση ενός σχηματοποιημένου άνθινου θέματος με την επανάληψη βασικών στοιχείων, όπως είναι η έλικα, οι σπείρες και τα λεπτότατα επίθετα ρομβόσχημα ελάσματα.
