Description
Μαλαμοκαπνισμένη πόρπη δουλεμένη με σφυρήλατη τεχνική και διάκοσμο με σαβάτι. Στα σφυρήλατα κοσμήματα οι τεχνίτες ανοίγουν φύλλο το ασήμι στο αμόνι με το σφυρί και στη συνέχεια του δίνουν την επιθυμητή φόρμα χρησιμοποιώντας το σφυρί. Ο διάκοσμος στηρίζεται στην σύνθεση σχηματοποιημένων φυτικών και γεωμετρικών θεμάτων, τονισμένων με μαύρο σαβάτι. Το σαβάτι είναι ένα ξεχωριστό είδος σμάλτου, ιδιαίτερα αγαπητό, που απαντάται σε πολλές ομάδες κοσμημάτων. Το φτιάχνουν σύμφωνα με τη βυζαντινή παράδοση του νιέλο, λιώνοντας το ασήμι, χαλκό, μολύβι και κερί του θειαφιού και με τη μάζα αυτή γεμίζουν τα σχέδια, που προηγουμένως είχαν χαράξει στην επιφάνεια του μετάλλου.
