Description
Ζωνάρι, μαλαμοκαπνισμένη σπονδυλωτή ζώνη με έκτυπο διάκοσμο και δερμάτινη επένδυση. Αποτελεί χαρακτηριστικό εξάρτημα της γυναικείας φορεσιάς των Πετρωτών. Συναντάται και ως εξάρτημα στη γυναικεία φορεσιά της Κεσσάνης (Ανατολική Θράκη) και των Βλάχων της Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας. Η σπονδυλωτή ζώνη αποτελείται από μία σειρά πλάκες (σπονδύλους) διακοσμημένους με έκτυπο ανθικό διάκοσμο. Στην έκτυπη (ανάγλυφη) διακόσμηση οι τεχνίτες σχεδιάζουν τα θέματα του διάκοσμου στην εσωτερική πλευρά και τα χτυπούν έπειτα με το καλέμι, πάνω σε μια μάζα από πίσσα (μίγμα από κολοφώνιο, κεραμίδι και λάδι). Ο σκαλιστής με διάφορα σπιτούνια από σκληρό ατσάλι σχεδιάζει τα σχέδια, τα οποία κτυπώντας τα με το σφυρί προβάλουν φουσκωτά στην άλλη πλευρά. Στην τελική φάση ο σκαλιστής δουλεύει με λεπτά καλέμια τις λεπτομέρειες από την καλή όψη.
Οι σπόνδυλοι καταλήγουν σε μία πόρπη της οποίας το κεντρικό έξαρμα διακοσμείται μ' έναν αητό.
