A few words
"Kerchiefs and scarves in Greek regional costumes"
This exhibition focuses on kerchiefs and scarves – ubiquitous components of the headdresses that complement and decorate Greek costumes.
The exhibition includes loom-woven scarves made by the women who wore them, as well as mass-produced scarves; silk as well as woollen, embroidered as well as printed. It also includes scarves that complete a headdress or are worn around the waist, imported from both East and West, with a variety of weaving techniques and decorative patterns, and a variety of uses and origins.
