Decorated with floral motifs and small touches of enamel, the brooch draws its inspiration from a jewel, worn on the chest, known as "ta alyssia me tis plakes", encountered in the area of Macedonia (Costume Museum of Lykeion ton Ellinidon collection under Accession Number 13894).
