The Archive possesses a large number of magnetic tapes, 8mm tapes, vhs cassettes, sound films and photographs which have been collected from in field expeditions and capture various regional expressions of the folk life such as festive rites, rituals of the Christmas season, Easter and the Carnival, popular worship manifestations, rites of passage etc.

This is mainly unpublished material, but several documents have been used in discographic editions of the LtE, in programmes of performances or printed publications such as “The Tranos Dance in Vlasti, Kozani” and “The Kalogeros. A polysemous custom of Thrace”.

The archive comprises also the essays submitted for the Koutlidis competition in the ‘70s as well as the “Discography Archive”, created in the 90’s in order to provide information to teachers and dancers of the LtE. It was an initiative of the teacher and Artistic Director of the LtE Lefteris Drandakis, with the cooperation of Giorgos Papadakis, and it comprises more than 300 vinyl LPs and 1.200 cds.

Access and use of the archival material by researchers is possible by submitting a request to the following email:
