Description
Καναλωτή φούστα από τη φορεσιά της Σίφνου. Η φορεσιά που έχει στενή σχέση με τα αστικά ενδυματολογικά σύνολα της Οθωμανικής αυτοκρατορίας, αποκτά "αέρα" δυτικής Ευρώπης χάρη στις ξενόφερτες στόφες δεύτερης ποιότητας ("bon pour l' orient") που υφαίνονταν κυρίως στη Λυών της Γαλλίας. Η φούστα είναι από τέσσερα μεγάλα φύλλα στόφας (πλάτους 89εκ.) κι από ένα μικρότερο (πλάτους 33εκ.), που πτυχώνονται σε τριάντα τρεις πιέτες (κανάλια). Είναι επενδεδυμένη με λεπτό, υπόλευκο βαμβακερό ύφασμα και κλείνει στη μέση με δύο κόπιτσες. Η στόφα από μεταξωτό ταφτά σε χλωμό χρυσαφί χρώμα διακοσμείται από ενυφασμένα, επαναλαμβανόμενα κομψά ανθικά μοτίβα, με συνδυασμό του λευκού και του χρυσού. Στον ποδόγυρο, επίρραπτη χρυσή δικτυωτή δαντέλα που απολήγει σε φοινικόφυλλα (ή βεντάλιες) από χρυσό κορδονέτο.
